About
I'm Salem Mihindeou AYENAN from Benin Republic, born in 1998. Young Climate Negotiator trained by United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the African Institute for Development and Planning (IDEP), I’m alumnus of Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice.
Holder of a bachelor degree in Didactics of English Language, I'm a Student Ambassador of Nature Positive Universities Alliance, an initiative of University of Oxford and United Nations Environment Program. I'm also an Alumnus of the FXB Climate Advocate Program.
Between 2017 and 2022, I organized several awareness-raising activities on the sanitation and reforestation activities.
In February 2022, I was selected by the Global Constituency of Youth for Environment (GCYE) to organize for the first time the Local Youth Environment Assembly in Africa region, with the support of the Major Group of Children and Youth of UNEP. This assembly brought together more than 1000 participants and 117 Civil Society Organizations. I launched the “All Stand for Climate Revival” campaign and the “ECOL’ECOLO” project.
Member of YOUNGO (Youth Constituency of UNFCCC) and the United Nations Children and Youth Major Group, I participated in African Climate Week, LCOY17, RCOY17, COY17, COP27.
Furthermore, I was invited by the Government of Stockholm and its partners for the International meeting of United Nations Stockholm 50 and the Global Youth Assembly S50.
Member of Focus Discussion Group UNESCO Africa on the Greening Curriculum on Climate Education, I was Mentor of Hackathon Hack for Earth COP27.
I am currently working with 44 participants on the challenge "How to run a hackathon in preschool" on the European Commission's Education for Climate platform.
